Dave Koppel nails the issues in this roughly 13- minute video, including the limits of executive orders and futility of gun and magazine bans:
Attorney Alan Gura who litigated the Heller case makes some interesting observations. While I don’t agree with everything he says, Gura makes some good comments about the 2nd Amendment and how firearm issues are often treated very differently by the media:
Of course, no one says it any straighter or with more feeling than my hero, Ted Nugent. In this interview, he correctly observes that Obama already has shining examples of what happens when you take law-abiding citizens’ guns away:
But disarming American citizens, Nugent claims, is exactly the wrong approach.
“Obama’s dream already exists, and those are called gun-free zones, and that is where the most innocent lives are lost,” Nugent told Klein. “What kind of monster would want more of these? Because if you ask for more gun-free zones, if you further disarm innocent Americans, you are literally engineering slaughters.”
Amen. On getting Biden and Holder to suggest gun legislation:
“That’s like hiring [notorious child killer] Jeffrey Dahmer to tell us to how to take care of our children,” Nugent said.
Oh yeah, well said.
Charlie Daniels correctly observes that Precedent Teaches Us The Left Really Wants ALL Our Guns. Indeed it does. He relates the Australian model:
In 1997, many Aussies were forced to give up their privately owned firearms. Over 630,000 were turned in to be destroyed as part of a “buyback plan” by the Australian government. Total cost of the buyback? $500,000,000.
The U.S. has far more firearms. Do we have a trillion dollars or more to spare for an unconstitutional liberty-busting program? Daniels goes on to show how that worked out in Australia:
Five years later, a “continued modest decline” in homicides was noted, but what has gone up in the land down under over the past few years is the number of assaults. Overall, assaults are up 40% and sexual assaults are up 20%.
Yep, rule by the strong and mobs, with women and the weak simply prey for aggressive predators. Remember that after the U.K.’s gun ban, they became the most violent country in the EU, even more than South Africa. That’s Obama’s utopia and the average citizens worst nightmare. The lesson in America is that more guns means less crime. Gun-free Chicago should be Obama’s showcase, but instead presents an excellent case against gun control with over 500 murders last year. Only the law-abiding are disarmed, becoming easy targets for psychopaths and predatory mobs.
