We’ve been there, done that. Oleg Volk correctly states that “We don’t have to imagine a world without guns. Humanity already lived through it“:
Brad commented on Oleg’s post:
Like LarryArnold said: It wasn’t called the Dark Ages for Grins & Giggles. It was a time when everyone’s life could summed up in three words —NASTY, BRUTISH & SHORT.
That about covers it. If you want a world where the strong take what they want, kill you with impunity if you don’t hand it over, the weak are their hapless and helpless targets, the bulk of the population are slaves, and women are raped by the strong for amusement, then by all means get rid of all the guns.
Life without guns in the Dark Ages sucked, and it would suck even worse now. As the saying goes: God created all men, Samuel Colt made them equal.
As we’ve seen in the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Red China, Cuba, Cambodia, North Korea, Zimbabwe, Chad, Iran, Syria, et al, gun control isn’t about guns, it’s about control. Fear the government that fears your guns. As Brave Leonidas once said to the Assyrians, Molan Labe!
