Record snow fall helps debunk global warming

The myth of Anthropological Global Warming (AGW) took a huge hit with the recent climategate. In case you’ve been asleep, hackers downloaded email from the climatic research unit at the University of East Anglia. In them, prominent researches discussed how to fudge their results and hide inconvenient facts that would help disprove AGW. James Delingpole at the Telegraph has a series of excellent exposes. Even Australia has joined the search for the truth.

It also out that NASA messed up their Arctic ice calculations. Imagine that.

Today is an appropriate day to discuss the myth of global warming. I think that it goes beyond myth to lie. Today has seen every record for snowfall in Northern Virginia/DC/Maryland history annihilated. From the NWS several hours ago:

...ARLINGTON COUNTY...
   ARLINGTON 20.5 800 PM 12/19
   BALLSTON 1 SW 18.5 630 PM 12/19
   REAGAN NATIONAL AIRP 16.3 858 PM 12/19

...CITY OF ALEXANDRIA...
   ALEXANDRIA 19.0 741 PM 12/19
   ALEXANDRIA 1 SE 15.0 614 PM 12/19

...DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA...
   THE MALL 16.0 615 PM 12/19

And the leader so far:

...NELSON COUNTY...
   WINTERGREEN 30.0 600 PM 12/19

Wintergreen is between Richmond and I-81 in the middle of the state.

As I type this from Arlington, VA, across the river from DC at about 10:30 p.m.,  over 21″ of snow has piled up around my house. It’s still snowing. According to National Weather Forecast observers, up to 30″ of snow has fallen in the non-mountainous parts of Virginia. Arlington averages about 23″ of snow a year. We’re almost there in one day! Who says that God doesn’t have a sense of humor?

Dulles, Reagan National, and BWI were closed or virtually closed most of the day. I expect to see polar bears any time now.

I could have been famous had I ventured out to shop. FoxNews broadcast about the snow from Pentagon Row shopping center during their evening news.

I’ll try to post pictures tomorrow after the snow finally ends.

  1. […] Logos 4 Bible Software I’ve been a Logos Bible Software user for well over a decade. I believe that they are the best around, having dominated the competition in capability for this entire time. They recently released a new version that made some radical changes to the interface. I upgraded last night and played with it quite a bit today, having nothing better to do but watch the snow. […]

  2. […] Old records annihilated. The National Weather Service totals. About 21 inches at my house (see previous post here). That’s a lot of shoveling!!! The blizzard of December 19, 2009 in progress. The storm went […]

  3. You need to get with the terminology…

    AGW is so yesterday…

The new term is “Climate Change” so anything out of the ordinary, warm or cold, can be attributed to anthropologic sources. 🙂

Now where this leaves the “hockey stick” graph they won’t tell me.

Thanks for your links in this post. To me this whole thing has gone way beyond the double-speak of 1984.

  4. Stephen,

Thanks for updating me! 🙂 These folks follow a playbook that’s a cross between 1984 and Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. Scary stuff to enslave a free people.

I do have a suggestion for where Gore can put the hockey stick, though…

  5. […] I sit again watching a blizzard out my window. This is the third time in just over a month. After Snowpocalypse in December with 21″, Snowmageddon earlier this week with 23″, now Snoverkill is adding […]
