September Quote of the Month

OK, I couldn’t resist this one. Please recall Khadafy’s (the Libyan ruler-for-life) rambling monologue at the worthless United Nations a few weeks ago. His translator finally folded after 75 minutes of Khadafy’s nonsensical rambling. A different translator had to take on the task of turning nonsense in to cohesive sentences for the last 20 minutes. Yet another offered the probably reason, speaking of Khadafy:

“He’s not exactly the most lucid speaker,” another Arabic interpreter said. “It’s not just that what he’s saying is illogical, but the way he’s saying it is bizarre. However, I think I could have made him sound a lot better.”

What more can one say?
