Rush Limbaugh at CPAC 2009 – Awesome!

If you didn’t catch Rush Limbaugh’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, you can watch it in high resolution on FoxNews video. After Part 1, search the videos on “Limbaugh at CPAC, Part” to find the other six parts. You can read a transcript here. This is a must-see. Limbaugh, without the need for a teleprompter to tell him what he believes, cut liberal lies to pieces. Obama targets Limbaugh in accordance with leftist radical Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, rules number 5 and 12. Liberals have no answers (and history shows that they never did), so they resort to childish games.

Unlike childish games, though, there are real consequences here. As Rush says:

We got out of the 1980s recession with tax cuts. Do you know that President Obama, in six weeks of his administration, has proposed more spending than from the founding of the country to his inauguration? Now, this is not prosperity. It is not going to engender prosperity. It’s not going to create prosperity and it’s also not going to advance or promote freedom. It’s going to be just the opposite. There are going to be more controls over what you can and can’t do, how you can and can’t do it, what you can and can’t drive, what you can and can’t say, where you can and can’t say it. All of these things are coming down the pike, because it’s not about revenue generation to them, it’s about control.

Proposing more spending than since the founding of the country. Think about that for a second. Michelle Malkin lists some excellent facts in her post Spendzilla: Fun facts about Obama’s budget busting budget. As the Wall Street Journal points out, Obama’s 2009 government spending amounts to 27.7% of the U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP). That’s an insane recipe for disaster. History has shown again and again that: 1) government programs never decrease in spending; and 2) deficit spending always deepens a recession. But then, as Limbaugh correctly notes, this isn’t about economic recovery but about control.

Think that the Obamessiah is leveling with the American people? Guess again.  FoxNews provided a brief fact check of his address to Congress, and the report card isn’t good.

Oh, and don’t think that Rush only speaks for some small minority. The backlash against the Obamessiah’s outrageous spending has already begun in the form of tea parties. Michelle Malkin has done an excellent job of covering those around the nation. As she points out, fiscal responsibility is now the counter-culture. How did that recipe for failure happen? Doesn’t everyone know that success only comes with persistence and hard work, not from a handout?

It’s here that Branford Marsalis’ comments on his students comes home to roost:

We live in a country that is in a massive state of delusion where the idea of what you are is actually more important that you being that. And it actually works as long as everybody is winking at the same time.

What about those who dissent, i.e., don’t wink?

Then if one person stops winking, you just beat the crap out of that person and either they start winking or they go somewhere else.

That’s Obamessiah’s consistent approach to opposition. If he can’t buy them off with stimulus bribes, then he applies Rules for Radicals #5 and 12. That’s how they are trying to marginalize Rush. But it won’t work. It didn’t work for Clinton and it won’t work for the Obamessiah. Rush speaks for a huge number of folks. That including those who don’t like the government grabbing their hard-earned money, taking it from their families to giving it to those who didn’t earn it. As Rush rightfully observed:

The people that make this country work, the people who pay on their mortgages, the people getting up and going to work, striving in this recession to not participate in it, they’re not the enemy. They’re the people that hire you. They’re the people that are going to give you a job. They’re the people that are going to give you a raise, the people that need you to do work for them.

Don’t say that I didn’t warn you. All this reminds me of a line in an old Ten Years After song, I’d Love to Change the World (live version with poor vocals but good guitar solo here), that goes:

Tax the rich, feed the poor,
‘Till there are no rich no more.

Then who’ll pay the Obamessiah’s massive debt?

Zimbabwe anyone?
