Great Theology Posts Around the Net

First, Dr. R. Scott Clark has put together Can I Have Assurance? together from a conversation over at the PuritanBoard. This is a MUST READ! As usual, Dr. Clark gets to the heart of the matter and lays out the truth simply and cleanly.

Over on GreenBagginses, Lane posted Trinity, Infinity, and Person, a nice, short summary of the Doctrine of the Trinity. Don’t miss the comments under the post.

Also over on GreenBagginses, fellow writer David Gadbois posted Berkhof and Baptismal Efficacy. This follows up his earlier excellent post Berkhof on Covenant and Union. Berkhof’s Systematic Theology remains one of the great standard texts in orthodox Reformed seminaries. I have used it extensively myself in teaching theology courses at churches.

Also on the subject of baptism, Grover Gunn points out a book on the history of baptism by William Heth Whitsitt. Good data point for historical perspective.

Dr. Sean Lucas posted a paper in three part on pastors and preaching. Here are Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

Not to toot my own horn, but I also posted a short list of recommended references, some that go back to the early Reformation period.
