Saw Battle: Los Angeles yesterday. It’s a very good war/action movie in a science fiction setting. It spoke well to the sacrifices that military members and their families make, as well as their courage against overwhelming odds. It also highlighted the sacrifices and challenges of leadership. The characters do justice to the USMC motto of adapt and overcome. In that regard, Battle: Los Angeles stands as a polar opposite of the military-hating Avatar theme.
The camera techniques drew viewers into the movie, which moved along at a crisp pace. The story generally made sense (in a scifi setting) and held together well. The character development occurs during the heat of combat with just a few preliminaries, but that was enough. The effects were appropriate to the action, yet didn’t overwhelm the story.
Overall, Battle: LA proved to be excellent entertainment that reflected favorably on our military heroes. Good stuff! Go see it!
